Private Lessons

I believe in reciprocal help. Because of this I decided to help my friend in the preparation for his final exams from the Computer Science classes. I think that I’m quite good from these classes. So it was nothing challenging for me to give some of my time to help a friend. Also I think that by explaining something I was able to strengthen my current knowledge. Somebody said that if you are not able to explain something in the easy way it means that in fact you do not understand this and I strongly believe in those words. Time spent with my friend has shown to me at what level is my knowledge from this subject indeed.

I experienced a lot of help from other students from my class and I thing that this is the trait of true IB student and the only way to survive this program properly. Working with others and sharing our knowledge and skills is very important and brings a lot of profit for both sides of this agreement. Also this is something that may ease the future, adult life.

Learning Outcomes:

Titanic Museum

Last weekend I was in the capital city of Poland – Warsaw. I spent there the whole weekend sightseeing and relaxing before final exams. I do really like this city and I plan to go there to university so I enjoy this time very much. One of the places that I visited was the Titanic exhibition in the Palace of Culture and Science. This was a part-time exhibition, which had been only available in the USA and not a long time ago it has started to emerge in Europe. I do really like museums and historical exhibitions like this, because I believe that people are able to get a lot of knowledge out of these events. It was said that the man who does not know the history is doomed to repeat it. I am certain that it is true.Titanic used to be the greatest, swimming hotel in the world. The first cruise was April 10th 1912 and the catastrophe has occurred 4 days later when the ship has crushed into the iceberg and drowned together with 1495 passengers and staff. I was surprised that about half of them managed to be saved. After watching the movie I thought that this event had way bigger scale and it only some individuals survived. During this exhibition I was able to see the real equipment that was on the Titanic and some objects that belonged to the passengers e.g. their letters, postcards, rings etc. I do really enjoy things like this and I really like sightseeing, because I can personate as somebody from those times and feel like part of “that world”. Also possibility of seeing the objects works better for imagination. I think that time spent in the museums is an option for creative relax and productive free time.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Engage with issues of global importance.
  • Consider ethical implications.
